It is with extreme sadness that we announce Kimberly Ann Wittenberg of Sherwood Park, AB, passed away at the age of 48 on October 27, 2023. Kim was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.
Kim was born on April 4, 1975, in Prince George, BC. Her family moved throughout Western Canada with Kim ultimately settling in Edmonton.
Kim earned a degree in Interior Design and had a strong penchant for aesthetic and design, putting them to good use in her careers at Finesse Furniture and Interiors, and later, at Carlton Cards as an installer and territory manager.
Kim was selfless, always looking out for those around her. She was kind and generous with her time and energy and added light and colour to everything around her.
Kim enjoyed family gatherings, good conversation, great food, listening to music, going to concerts, travelling, and experiencing new adventures. Her creative side had no limits she was always trying something new.
The love Kim had for her children was inspiring. Everything she did was to set them up for success in the future. She was truly an amazing mother and extremely proud seeing her children grow into strong independent young adults.
Kimberly was a vivacious, beautiful, outgoing, and generous soul who cherished her family and friends above all else. She faced more hardships in her young life than anyone should have to and was unbelievably courageous and fierce battling against cancer.
Kimberly is survived by her common-law spouse Jason Dunbar; her son, Joel Wittenberg-Cardinal and his wife Sophie along with their daughters Teena and Athena; her daughter Kate Wittenberg; her daughter Kristen Wittenberg and her partner Kurt Dal; her daughter Jillian Wittenberg and her partner Nathan Thunder; her stepdaughter McRae Dunbar; her Gramma Rosemary Johnston; her parents-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Wittenberg; her sister Amanda Hall and her husband Rod along with RJ and Cadence; her father and his wife, Allen and Lori Lewis along with Paul; her sister Andrea Lewis and her husband Rob along with Candace and Mikayla; her sister Rachel Lewis and her partner Steve along with Troy, Robyn, Ivy and Silas; her parents-in-law, Bruce and Brenda Dunbar; her brother-in-law Andrew Dunbar. Kimberly was preceded in death by her spouse, Jordon Wittenberg, and her grandson, Jordon Wittenberg-Cardinal.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for family members to honor Kimberly’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in honor of Kimberly’s courageous battle against cancer.
Please join us in remembering Kimberly Ann Wittenberg and celebrating the impact she had on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed.
