Kim passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter right to the end.
Kim was predeceased by her grandparents John and Gladys Racette, Dora and Nick Unick, two nephews Theron Webster-Unick and Mason Unick. Kim is survived by her husband and life partner Cam, their boys Adam and Caden, her parents Larry and Shirley Unick, brother Dwayne , nieces Jersie and Isabelle, sister Jocelyn (Jared) nephew Jaxyn, sister in law Lesley Webster, father in law Dan Walker (Lorie), mother in law Gerti Thauberger. Also many Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kim was born and raised in Indian head. Right from a small age Kim loved her sports playing hockey, ringette, volleyball, basketball, golf and slo pitch. She continued that love by watching her boys play hockey, baseball, basketball and football. After high school she went to SUNTEP and got a degree in education, she started her career in 2006 at Indian Head Elementary School. She spent her whole career there, teaching many children. Being a teacher was something she was very passionate about. Embracing each and every child that passed through her classroom and all the others in the hallways and playground. Kim married Cam her high school sweetheart and soulmate in 2005, they had two boys Adam (2007) and Caden (2010). Kim’s family time was always a priority. Bdays, special suppers and just random day get togethers for a meal at mom and dads with everyone. Her nieces and nephews were her world, she was always excited to welcome them into this world and spoil them. Theron, Jersie, Isabelle and lastly Jaxyn all have felt the overwhelming love from Aunty Kim. She was very social and loved all her friends deeply. She never missed an opportunity to hang out with her friends whether it be a special occasion, quad trip, lake day, or just a deck coffee.
Kim will be deeply missed by everyone she came into contact with. The family would like to thank The Mayo clinic, Allan Blair cancer clinic, the many doctors and nurses at RGH and Pasqua hospitals, Dr Sam Iskandar for all his care and attention, of course IHUH nurses and staff for their compassion and everything they do and lastly her special friend/nurse Randeen Duran who spent countless hours helping Kim throughout the whole process.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2 pm in the Indian Head Memorial Hall, Indian Head, SK. Interment in the Indian Head cemetery and luncheon to follow back at the hall.
