Khamsy MacTavish, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away on June 10, 2023, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, at the age of 75. She was born on June 15,1947, in Vientiane, Lao.
Khamsy was a woman of unwavering faith and had a special love for Jesus. She was a woman of prayer and known for her kindness and generosity. As a devoted wife, Khamsy shared her life with her beloved husband, John MacTavish, for over 30 years. Their love story began many years ago when John was teaching English to one of Khamsy’s friends. From the moment their eyes met, it was love at first sight. Their connection deepened over time, and their marriage was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship. Khamsy’s life was a testament to resilience and strength. She faced the challenge of polio, with courage and faith and John at her side, a disease that affected her physically.
Khamsy loved her family back in Lao, including her sister Bae Nampraserkul, as well as her extended family members: Isariya Isariyawt, Sang Ngern Nampraserkul, Banyky Sawatpeera, Itota Komato, Ploy Wimonrat, and Bobby Nampraserkul.
Khamsy treasured the special moments she spent connecting with her sister each morning through Facetime, a cherished ritual that brought them closer despite the physical distance.
In her leisure time, Khamsy enjoyed watching movies from Thailand, and cooking up tasty dishes for John.
To honour Khamsy’s life and memory, a viewing at Rowandale Baptist Church will be held on June 21, 2023, at 10:00 am. Following the viewing, a Celebration of Life service will commence at 11 am, followed by a light lunch in the basement of
Rowandale Baptist Church.

Khamsy MacTavish will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, kindness, and generosity. As we say goodbye to Khamsy, we rejoice to know that she is now in the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father, where she will find eternal peace and joy.
«God be with you,» Khamsy would always say. And now, Khamsy is with Jesus, where she and her family in Christ will one day meet again in paradise.
