With gratitude and appreciation for a life well lived, we
announce the passing of Kevin Charles Griffin, aged 65 years, on
Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Kevin passed peacefully, with his wife by
his side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital,
O’Leary.
Beloved husband, father, poppy, stepfather, pepe, brother,
brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, dedicated employee, and friend. Kevin
will be greatly missed by his wife Audrey (Shields), children, Ryan
(Robin), ON, Erin (Kevin Hoeg), AB, Harley, ON, special granddaugher,
McKenna, stepsons, Darcy and Keegan (Michael), step-granddaughers,
Keana and Skyla Jeffery, brothers, Vaughn (Judy), ON, Ian (Curt), ON,
Donald (Kelly), ON, sisters, Nora (Kevin Currie), PEI, Sharon, ON, Kim
(Vance Ellis), AB, uncles, Dale McKenna (Eileen), Bernice McCluskey,
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially special cousins,
Earl and Grant O’Halloran.
Kevin will be missed, but fondly remembered, by his brothers
and sisters-in-law, Elaine (Fred Luttrell), Muncey (late Carol)
Geralda (Burt Arsenault), Phyllis (late John Nugent), Blaine, Dale
(Diane), Billy (Chris), Kevin (Bernadette), Lorraine (Terry
Blanchard), and co-workers at Preston Murphy Trucking and
Loading.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Basil and Norma
(McKenna) Griffin, sister, Maureen (in infancy), grandparents, Charlie
and Minnie Griffin, Ronald and Gertrude McKenna, aunts and uncles,
Joan McCluskey, Ailene (late Carl Shea), Catherine McKenna, Bernice
Griffin, and Lillian (late Howard) O’Halloran.
Special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, O’Leary, the PEI
Cancer Treatment Center, QEH, and PCH, Western Hospital ER, PCH ER,
Preston Murphy Trucking and Loading, and family and friends, for all
the love and support shown to Kevin and Audrey during his illness.
Extra special thank you to Priscilla for her friendship and kindness
during Kevin’s journey.
No visitation as per personal request. A celebration of life
will take place in the summer of 2025. As an expression of
sympathy, memorials to the Palliative Care Unit, O’Leary, would be
greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Rooney Funeral Home,
Alberton.
