Kenneth Stuart Stephenson, born York Township, October 25, 1930 and raised in Toronto, a resident of Toronto, Ontario, Kimberley, Ontario, Huntsville, Ontario and Ajijic, Mexico, died on November 4, 2024 in Huntsville, Ontario at the age of 94.
Ken leaves his dear and loving wife, Anne Shannon (O’Rorke), his partner in their many adventures of life.
Ken was especially proud of each of his children and their partners… Janet Ruth (Peter)
Timothy Spencer, deceased, (Susan), Kelly Louise (William), (mother, Dorothy Hainer, deceased), Mark Elliott (Cate), (mother, Veronika Drechsler, deceased).
Grandchildren and their partners, Jennifer (Jason), Julie (Brett), Jaclynn (Robert), Evan (Sara), Amy (Matt), Kaitlyn (Jordan), Jonathan (Megan)… Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Carson, Mackenzie, Mya, Myles, Ryleigh, Morgan, Sydney, Mitchell, Emily, Laura, Hannah, Rachel, Levi.
Two wonderful sisters-in-law… Mary Johnson (Lorne, deceased), and daughter
Meghan Hammond. Madeleine Danton and sons Stephen (Sara) and Gregory (Shirley) and daughters Emily and Elora.
Ken was born the son of David Stuart Stephenson, Saint John, New Brunswick and
Margaret Jean Lindsay, Galt Ontario, now Cambridge.
After attending Vaughan Road Collegiate and Jarvis Collegiate Ken worked as a Custom-House Broker, retiring in 1990. A Founding Member and later President of The Canadian
Institute of Custom House Brokers and President of AIBA (Association of International Border Agencies).
From his early years at Border Brokers and the decades with his pal, Jack Lamont, at Import Custom Brokers and final years at Livingston International, he felt enriched by his many colleagues.
Ken was a long-time member of the Beaver Valley Ski Club, The Boulevard Club, Mimico Cruising Club, Thornbury Yacht Club, Great Lakes Alberg Association… but it was the 30 plus years of sailing aboard RUBBER DUCKY that was the centre of Ken’s recreational delight.
Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Megan Stephenson and her superb staff and to all of the caring 2nd floor medical staff, and of the Emergency and ICU units at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and Dr. Gerardo A. Leon Leon and his wonderful staff in Ajijic, Mexico.
Ken’s love and best wishes go to all of his family and friends…
