Peacefully at Glengarry Memorial Hospital Tuesday October 31, 2023. Kenneth Malcolm MacDougall of Dalkeith at the age 85. Beloved husband of 50 years of Enid Catherine MacDougall (née Owens). Loving father of Dawna MacDougall, Cheryl MacDougall (Allan Day), Marjorie MacDougall, Beverley MacDougall (Christopher Butland) and grandfather to Emma Day. Dear brother to Lorraine McNaughton (late Callum) and Barbara Ross (late Allan). Predeceased by his parents Thomas MacDougall and Bessie McMeekin and sister Ruthanna MacPherson (late A.K.). He will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations to the Kirkhill United Church Cemetery, the East Hawkesbury United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Kenneth was raised on a successful dairy farm on Brodie Road where he and Enid continued & raised their four daughters. Kenneth loved working with heavy equipment and worked at Expo ’67 during its construction. Kenneth always enjoyed getting together with family and friends; a highlight of that was celebrating his and Enid’s 50th wedding anniversary this past summer. The weekly card games in Dalkeith with friends were always looked forward to. At the young age of sixteen he went West for the Harvest excursion.
Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes, 114 Main St. S., Alexandria, 613-525-2772. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 1 pm in the Kirkhill United Church Cemetery. A light lunch and an opportunity to speak to the family will follow the service in the Kirkhill United Hall. As a Memorial to Kenneth, a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
