Bathurst – Kenneth “Kenny” Jenks, of Youghall Drive, Bathurst, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 85.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Georgina (Armstrong) Jenks and the late Kenneth Jenks.
He is survived by three children: Bradley Jenks (Darlene Dobson), Debbie Jenks both of Bathurst and Wendy Arbour (Chris) of Rothesay, NB; six grandchildren: Amanda Scott (Robyn), Laetitia, Joshua (Chelsie), Nathanael (Maddie), Tori (Alex) and four great-grandchildren: Lilly, Kip, Mia and Della.
Also survived by his brother, Harold Jenks (Dawn) of Ontario as well many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and even great great-nieces and great-great nephews.
Besides his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his loving wife, Marion (Brown) Jenks and his grandson, Jacob Ferron.
Kenny held many different jobs in his lifetime, mostly working with heavy machinery and driving transport truck. Some jobs were working for others and some owning his own businesses including Ken Jenks Excavating Ltd and Jenks Trucking. He even had a stint as a fisherman, dragging scallops on his own boats, the last called Chaleur Lady. Ken enjoyed taking long walks both back on his property and on the road down to the points.
There will be a visitation in the Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Bathurst on Friday, September 13, 2024, starting at 2pm with a funeral service at 3pm. A reception will follow. Donations can be made to Shareword (Gideon’s) or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
