Kenneth (Kenny) Genrick Obituary
Kenny passed peacefully at the Valley Manor on July 30, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Doreen Mildred (Keller) Genrick. Loving father of Herbert (Elizabeth), Mervin (Maureen) and David (Kathleen). Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Agnes (Griese) Genrick and also brother Royden (survived by Gertrude). He leaves behind 6 grandchildren; Brady (Amanda), Jeremy (Emily), Jordan (Fawn), Bryce (Jenna), Carissa (Liam) Fletcher and Zachary (Emma) and great grandchildren Reid, Grace, Abigail, Sadie, Luke, Ryder, Nash, Lincoln and Wren…also baby great-grandson to be who is due to be born on Kenny’s birthday.
Kenny lived and worked many years on the farm; logged the bush with his horses, also sawed in his own mill and ran his own trucking business. He was mild mannered, caring and gentle man who loved to chat with anyone, tell stories and jokes. He was dearly loved by his family, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He and his wife always enjoyed visitors at home and welcomed many into their home.
Kenny was a resident of Valley Manor for the last two years of his life. The family would like to thank his care givers for their kindness to him, especially Chantel and Dr. Daniel Ostapowicz.
Visitation will be at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Schutt on Tuesday August 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 and from 10am-10:45am on August 7th. Funeral to follow on August 7th at 11am officiated by Rev. Randy Liedtke. Burial in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church of Valley Manor Building Fund via St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.
