It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Dennis Moore on December 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife and beloved children. Ken was born on February 14, 1960, to Edythe (nee Mersereau) and Morley Moore Sr, both predeceased.
Ken is survived by his wife Karen Moore (nee Kirkey); his children Kyle, Krista, Lyrissa (Brooks), Lance, and Dawn; his 14 grandchildren Boston, Destiny, Johnny, Kaden, Mayssen, Kyle Jr., Leighton, Jaxon, Hazel, Zoey, Hailey, Harley, Axel, and Ivy; brothers Ted (Sylvie) Moore, and Morley (Tracy Schattin-Healy) Moore; Mother-in-law Betty (Charlie,predeceased) Kirkey; sister-in-law and brother’s-in-law Linda Kirkey, Terry (Kathy) Kirkey, Larry (Carol) Kirkey, and Dan (Shirley-Ann) Kirkey, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends! Predeceased by his sister Stephanie (Peter Tabaczuk) and brother Stephen (Darlene) Moore.
Ken was an avid walker with Karen and loved to travel, always exploring new places and unique accommodations. They have enjoyed many years as snowbirds in their Florida home, even though Ken couldn’t bare the heat, he still made sure to be around for Christmas with his children and grandchildren, then hit the road shortly after. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren on his boat, at the beach, and at MANY sporting events. Ken loved all animals and had 2 cats (Dr. Pepper and Peanut) of his own that he rescued from his mother-in-law’s home and loved them dearly. He was a colossal Montreal Canadiens fan and rarely missed a game. He even got to enjoy one last game with his older brother Ted by his side.
Ken retired from the CRA after 30 good years and had enjoyed working part-time at Canadian Tire during his retirement. Ken was loved everywhere he went, touching many hearts with his fun-loving spirit and caring personality. He loved to crack a good “dad joke” but also gave the best advice that he could. He will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 1pm. Friends may gather after 12:30pm on Tuesday. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
In lieu of flowers memorial, donations may be given to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
