Stevens, Kenneth (Ken) Edward PEO (Retired)-passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday January 23, 2024 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Crystal (nee Clattenburg-Audit) & loving father of Hilary Stevens & Matthew (Victoria) Stevens. Cherished grandfather of Tristan (Sher), Jared (Lina), Aussie (Lynsey), Myles, Levi, Declan, Ayden and Dillon and great grandfather of Ryvers & Lyra. He is survived by his cousin Maureen Frost in England, brothers-in-laws, David (Johanne) Audit, Bill (Nicole) Miller & many nieces and nephews from Canada, England & New Zealand. Predeceased by parents James and Daphne (Johnson) Stevens of England, his sisters Valerie Crowther (John) of New Zealand & Audrey (Ken) Crook of England and sister-in law Leona Miller of Welland Ontario.
Ken was employed as the Assistant Supervisor of the Electrical, Mechanical & Shops at Page Hersey (Stelco) in Welland for 35 years until his retirement in 1995.
Ken had a love of baroque, classical, organ and choral music and composed several pieces. Ken sang until 1988 in the Niagara Symphony Chorus. He was an organist in the Niagara Region with churches St. James in Port Colborne, Holy Trinity Fonthill & St. David’s in Welland being three of the many churches he played for. When Ken was the organist at St. David’s, Ken & Rev. Brian Melbourne of All Saint’s Dain City, organized the Anglican Choral Group consisting of All Saint’s, Holy Trinity Fonthill, Holy Trinity, Welland and St. David’s Church and the first concert was a success with a performance of Stainer’s Crucifixion. This group would perform a number of choral pieces during Holy Week for several years. After his retirement he was an interim organist at All Saints Ridgeway and St. John’s Ridgemount with Canon Ken Cardwell & also filled in for organists in the area.
Ken was a member of the R.S.C.M St. Catharines sub- committee branch until 2013 as the chair where several anthem readings & Meet, Eat and Sing were enjoyed by friends of choral singing. He was also on the R.S.C.M Niagara/ Huron Chapter as a member and Secretary/ Newsletter for the Continuum. He joined the Niagara Branch of the R.C.C.O and would sit as an executive taking over the job of their newsletter as well.
Thank you to his doctor Dr. B. Mikhail, the staff and nurses of St. Elizabeth Health and Bayshore for the PSW’s who took such great & loving care of Ken. These were his special angels on earth.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. David’s Church, 369 Thorold Road, Welland on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 at 11am with a reception to follow.
