Obituary of Katie Hagan
We are sad to announce the unexpected passing of our dearest Katie on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Born July 31, 1967 as Mary Kathryn Reid, she grew up in Kincardine, Ontario before going off to university in Toronto where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. After working in Toronto hospitals for a time she spent the next years with MSF (Doctors without Borders), working in third world and war-torn counties, at refugee camps and orphanages in Bangladesh, India and Africia.
She married Gary in 2018 and they settled down to a more relaxed life in Sault Ste. Marie. She is survived by her husband Gary, her brother Stephen Reid, and her nephews Aven and Ronan. Predeceased by her parents John Reid and Annabelle Jaquith and her younger brother Paul Reid. One of the kindest and most caring people you will ever meet, she is loved and adored by many.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) or St. Vincent Place would be greatly appreciated by the family.
