Kathleen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Kathie was born on January 15, 1946, to parents Francis and Mabel, and grew up in Abbotsford, Quebec
with her brother Donald (deceased) and sister Sylvia, now living in Ottawa.
She attended Bishops University in Lennoxville, QC, before marrying Charles (Richard) Key, of Montreal.
They lived in Pointe Claire, raising two sons, Colin and Lindsay, before the family moved to Milton in 1984.
Kathie was a loving wife and mother, a close friend to many, an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities,
and an outstanding athlete – notably competing in and completing the Ironman Hawaii triathlon in 2008 at the age of 62.
She is predeceased by her husband Richard, and brother Donald.
She will be sadly missed by sons Lindsay and Colin, sister Sylvia, daughter-in-law Tamsin, and granddaughter Charlotte
as well as the extended Key family (Chris, Phil, Sandy, and Steve) and many friends in Milton and across Ontario, Quebec and beyond.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held in the future.
