August 11, 1932 – May 15, 2023
With saddened hearts, we share the passing of Kay.
Loving mother of Paul (Lorna) Mailloux, Ken (Christina) Mailloux and Sue (Tom) Manherz. Much loved Granny of Matt (Megan), Tara, Liz (Charlie), Samm, Jarrod (Azarria) and Lily. Loving Great Granny of Ben. Dear sister in law of Jane. Predeceased by her siblings Moe (Dunc) Duncan, Dan, Paddy (Art) Cooper, Tom (June) and Brian (Debbie).
Kay was such a special lady known to many as “Granny or Auntie Kay” and she loved every minute of it. Her door was always open and everyone knew there was always candy in her dish. If you were lucky enough to catch her awake, you knew you would have to yell the entire visit because she refused to wear her hearing aids.
She was also known as “Mrs. Hallmark” for all the cards she would mail to everyone for any occasion. This made her so happy. But nothing made her happier than a visit from a baby, a dog or her “Special Boys” and they were just as happy to see her.
Kay worked at Bell Canada for years and retired from Windsor Raceway, leaving with so many lifetime friendships from both.
We were lucky to have so many great people looking out for Granny. Thank you to our wonderful “Hood” and all her friends for all your visits and care. Thank you to Josette Riddell for always going above and beyond as well as your true love for Granny. Patti Clark, Connie Ohler and Jennifer Fazekas-Maisonville, your compassion and care was so appreciated and never forgotten.
Kay will leave a huge void in so many of our lives and will be missed terribly.
Following Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
