Katherine Edna (Kitty) Morell
October 29, 1942 – February 10, 2023
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Kitty passed away Friday after a long, hard fight against Microvascular Ischemic Disease.
Graduate of Carter High School, Class of 1962 and a long-time member of Mascot Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, Children’s Church leader and more. Sung with the Mascot Baptist Quartet in the 70’s, worked at Magnavox/Phillips Consumer Products print shop in the 80’s, was a lifetime member of the National PTA, and was employed at the Knox Co Schools PTA Teacher Supply Depot for several years. She also loved to craft.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Lon and Imogene Norton; Karen Violet Haynes (sister); and grand-daughter Nikki Leanne Ivy.
Survived by lifelong husband, Gary; Becky Morell (daughter); Cindy (daughter) and Roger Britton; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer Ivy, Alexandra and April Britton, and Austin Whaley; Pat (sister) and Chuck Branch, and many other family members. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Bridges Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at Bridges Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:00 pm to travel in procession to Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 pm Graveside Service with Pastor Lewis Thomas Jr. officiating.
