HOFFMAN, Karin (née Jackscha) (1941-2023)
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Karin Hoffman in Sudbury on January 2nd, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Werner Jackscha and Margarete Jackscha (née Krause). Beloved wife of the late Herman Hoffman. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Norman and Shirley (Shaun). Loving sister of Torsten and Volker (Melitta). Dear aunt of Lisa and Angie. Grand-aunt of Alari, Adrian, Josh, Meghan, and Carter.
Karin immigrated to Canada from Germany at the age of 19 with little English, a few dollars, and a lot of optimism. She quickly became a very proud Canadian, with a love of country that grew ever deeper over her lifetime. She eventually traveled its full breadth, east to west. After some years working and raising a family, she returned to school at the age of 41 and positively blossomed. As a keen volunteer and enthusiastic social convener, she was always hatching new projects, touching many lives in the process. In later years she found a spiritual home on Manitoulin Island, spending idyllic summers surrounded by friends and nature. Endlessly creative, she flourished most as a painter, and soon no surface was safe from her brush. With an abiding love of animals she eventually became an avid bird lover and Osprey fanatic. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of The North, Sudbury.
