Bungay, Karen Elizabeth
With heavy hearts we announce Karen’s passing at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family on August 5, 2024. Karen was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on November 27, 1961. She was the beloved daughter of Marilyn and Thomas Bungay (predeceased). Loved and loving sister of Lyn LaFraugh (Stan-predeceased), Kathy Black (Richard) and Maureen Brammer (Adrian-predeceased). Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Stephen LaFraugh (Kari), Lindsay Whelan (Tobias), Daniel LaFraugh (Bri), Alex Black, Michael Black (Ashley), Andrew Brammer and Katherine Brammer. Great nieces and nephews: Henry, Violet and Norah Whelan, Delilah and Gavin LaFraugh and Theo Black. Special niece of Anne Sullivan and Patt Carter and cousin to Kelly Vacon (Steve), Kevin Carter (Melanie), Paul Sullivan (Judy) and Colleen Bradbury (Shawn). Karen liked (loved!) her cat Lily and a mini horse named Comet. She also liked scrapbooking, putting together photo albums, stickers, activities at Rotary Place and time spent with family and friends. Karen was a client of Community Living programs for many years. She greeted everyone with a great big smile and a hug (loved to give them and loved to get them!) She will be missed everyday by all of us. There was no quit in Karen. “She believed she could and so she did”. A Celebration of Karen’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Simcoe Funeral Home from 1 – 3 pm. If desired, charitable donations can be made to the Sharing Place, Salvation Army Orillia or the Charity of your choice. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
