Eleanor «June» Hermer (née Perrigo) entered into rest at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes in Lindsay, Ontario on Friday October 6 2023 at the age of 79, pre-deceased by cherished husband Frank Hermer. Born in Round Lake Centre Ontario, June was the loving daughter of the late Andrew and Mabel Perrigo. June was the beloved mother of Joseph, Shelley (Kevin) Jim (Kathy) and Jennifer (Steve). Cherished grandmother of Braden, Jared, Halsea, Isobel, Jessica, Gracie-May and Ava. Dearly loved sister of Edmund (Joan), Leo, John, Carol (Clifford), and sister-in-law Anne (Keith). Fondly remembered by neices Susan (Trantor), Susan (McCormick) Donna and Karen; nephews Andrew, Brad, Davey, Richard, David, Jason, Curtis, Daniel, John, Ken, Geoff and Pat. Pre-deceased by brothers Allan and Pat, sisters Mary, Alaine, Barbara and Doris, brothers-in-law Jack, Robert and Vern, sisters-in-law Laura, Maureen (Perrigo), Joanne and Maureen (Greenwood), niece Gail and nephews Darrell and Luke.
Incredibly community-minded, June was an integral part of Lindsay, Ontario, and a familiar and loved volunteer for organizations including Community Care, City of Kawartha Lakes, Crisis Hotline, and Ross Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, Dr. Hainer, and Debbie Shyne for the outstanding professional and loving care over the years. In June’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to Lumara Grief and Bereavement Care Society lumarasociety.org/donate-now/ to support bereaved families in Canada.
Visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street Lindsay on Tuesday October 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church Russell Street East, Lindsay on Wednesday October 11 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Lindsay.
