CLARKE, Julie (February 28, 1969 – December 7, 2023)
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Julie Michelle Clarke on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the age of 54. They say only the good die young, and Julie was the essence of goodness.
Julie was born on February 28, 1969 in Carrying Place, Ontario. She built an incredible career of over 37 years at Metro (formerly A&P), where she was cherished as head cashier and went above and beyond in countless ways in her dedication to the store. Julie’s strength of character was matched only by the size of her heart. She was always the first to offer help and the last to ask for anything in return.
Julie’s dedication to her late parents, Lena Clarke (Badgerow) and Elwood Clarke spoke to her big heart and caring nature. In the past years she returned to live on the family farm, which is a place of countless memories, laughter and stories that live on in her family and friends. Julie was the youngest of six sisters. She will be joining her late sisters Debbie and Brenda. The strongest, most unbreakable of friendship and sisterhood was found in Kelly Clarke of Trenton (partner Glen McMurter) and Cindy Power of Trenton (late Lorne Power). The three shared an intimate bond and have a similar, infectious cackle/laugh that brings joy to all who hear it. Julie’s laugh is as unforgettable as she is herself.
In addition to being the greatest sister and sister-in-law, Julie was an adored aunt by her nephews Beau Larmon of Frankford (partner Tara Donly), as well as her great-niece Ellie Larmon of Frankford, Sean Power of Kingston and Jeremy Power of Hong Kong. Her generosity knew no bounds for them, especially during the Christmas season where she would be in her element, pairing ornaments to presents with themes that matched the personalities of each one it was going to.
A true animal lover, Julie at one point found herself mother to seven cats whom she loved dearly. Her surviving companions, Scoob and Scoots will surely miss her nurturing care. Julie was a true fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoyed rocking out to her favourite band, AC/DC. She also loved listening to Prince and country music. Julie’s life was one of love, laughter and enduring kindness. She will be missed by all who knew her and she will be remembered for the joy and care she brought to her family and friends.
A celebration of life for Julie will be held later in 2024, with details to be distributed by her sisters come the spring.
