Julie James of Cambridge, Ontario peacefully passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on June 26, 2023 at the age of 51 after a short courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Brayden Pedersen, son Rylan Pedersen, sister Carol Craig (David), brother Robbie James, nephew Dylan James, brother Peter Shackleton (Selina), and numerous other family members and friends. She was pre-deceased by her mother Carole Symington (Bill) in 2018 and her father Philip James (Jacqueline Jargaille) in 2021. Born in Pointe Claire, Quebec, Julie spent her school years in Dollard des Ormeaux and became fluently bilingual. She then moved to Ontario where she took special training in Early Childhood Education. She worked as a Teaching Assistant in the classroom with children with challenging behaviours for the Waterloo Region District School Board. She has always loved children and worked so hard at her job. The students and staff loved her and she received many accolades over the years. This love was again seen when she had her own children, whom she adored and loved so deeply. She taught them the important values in life and was always so proud of the wonderful successful young men they have become. Julie loved family and friends and was always such a kind caring person. She would help all and loved spending time with the special people in her life. She was an accomplished swimmer, skier, ringette player, and loved to spend time outside in the country and at the lakes. She introduced her children to her favourite things and worked so hard to provide them with a wonderful life.
Julie was a beautiful woman inside and out. So caring and so kind. Special memories for Julie were Sherkston Shores where she went with her Cambridge family and Lac Brome where she went with her Knowlton, Calgary, and UK families. She loved fishing with her boys, playing in the pool, and swimming in the lakes.
I remember when she was born and I was so happy to finally have a little sister. She has been very special to me and my family all her life. Thank you Julie for being you and loving us all. We love you dearly ❤️
You will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.

We would especially like to thank Allison, JoAnn, Nick, Angela, family, and friends for their continued support in Julie’s courageous fight against cancer these past 2 years.
We would also like to thank Dr. Chan, all the doctors and nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Grand River Hospital for their continued support and care for Julie.
