Passed peacefully away after a short illness, Judy Anne (Nee O’Grady) Shaw (78) at St. Clare’s on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Predeceased by her first husband Dave Scurry; parents Stella and Patrick; brothers Edward “Teddy” and Kevin and her mother-in-law Mary F. Shaw.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is her husband of 35 years Ron; sisters Betty (Eric) Field and Margaret (Peggy) O’Grady; niece Wendy Field and her children Danielle and Brett; nephew Darrell Field and his children Ashley and Nicholas; nephew Keith (Renee) Field and his children Sophia and Claire; two adopted felines Misty and Penney.
A thank you to all family, friends and neighbors who provided advice during this very difficult time.
Special thanks to Judy’s care team of doctors, nurses and other staff on 7 West of St. Clare’s Hospital for the care, compassion and comfort provided to Judy in the final weeks of her life.
Thank you to Father Melvin for anointing her before she passed.
A special thank you to Dr. Sam Aseer, Rheumatologist at St. Clare’s for providing care from 2016 to her final days. The treatment you authorized for Judy gave her the ability to keep walking despite having severe Rheumatism.
Cremation has taken place. At Judy’s request there will be no visitation.
Funeral Service will be held at Caul’s Chapel, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Animal Care and Adoption Centre, Higgins Line, St. John’s.
Although you are now in Heaven with the Lord, I will always cherish the memories we made in our 35 years together. I will always love and remember you.
