Obituary
Judy Lynn Woloshyn
December 29, 1955 – April 8, 2023
It is with heavy hearts the family of Judy announce her passing on Saturday April 8, 2023 at the age of 67 years
Judy leaves behind her precious daughter Terilyn, the love of her life. Her 6 siblings, Gloria Woloshyn, Shirley (Ralph) Herlick, Wendy (Brian) Gambrel, Randy (Joan) Woloshyn, Darryl (Denise) Woloshyn and Kevin (Paula) Woloshyn along with 19 nieces and nephews, and 15 great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nellie and Jerry Woloshyn and her nephew Michael Woloshyn.
Judy was born on a farm in Rossdale, Manitoba where she spent her time helping out looking after the pigs, cows and chickens, working in the garden, picking potatoes and enjoying her life playing and growing up with her siblings and family. She attended Rossdale and St. Andrews school in her elementary years and graduated from Lord Selkirk High School in 1973.
She had an entrepreneur spirit. She worked in Gilliam, MB in a camp after she graduated: Owned a beauty shop under the Fantastic Sams franchise: Purchased her first house while in her early twenties: Worked as a stewardess at an airline that serviced northern communities and was employed at Northern Telecom along with her Mom and her sister Wendy.
Judy loved hanging out with family and friends as they shared in activities that included fishing, hunting, camping, water skiing, down hill skiing, and on those beautiful sunny days in the Big Whiteshell ….the beach, where she loved to catch the warm rays of the sun.
Judy had a passion for travel. She also had a very strong faith. This combination took her to many parts of the country where Terilyn and Judy would take in a spiritual conference and later explore the vacation spots and beaches. On other occasions she travelled with family and friends where she visited Disney World, Kelowna, Hawaii, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and enjoyed the pampering of Caribbean cruises. —
Anyone who knows Judy understands that her greatest passion for life began after her daughter was born on February 13, 1996. Judy offered support and much encouragement continuously. Terilyn was and continues to be very active participating in sports, Ukrainian dancing, camping, travelling and furthering her education. Her proud Mom was beaming as Terilyn received recognition for achieving honor roll status in high school and later at university and for achieving an award for athlete of the year and a rugby scholarship. Terilyn has grown into a strong, independent, hard working, fun loving young woman. Terilyn has mentioned on many occasions that she has a really good Mom… So as proud as you are of your daughter Judy…. You can rest in peace and know that this feeling is mutual.
Along with her daughter, Judy held a special connection and was supportive with her niece Jaylene. Jaylene has been missing Judy deeply and they shared tears at the hospital as Jaylene expressed with Judy her feelings and that she cannot imagine life without Judy. This was our Judy……Sharing her unconditional love and acceptance ….. no matter your ability or inability.
Judy was a strong, happy, thoughtful, sweet, kind, loving and caring person. She will be missed by all of us. Rest in Peace Judy. We will always have your memories in our heart and feel your presence.
A silent tear
Just close your eyes and you will see
All the memories that you have of me
Just sit and relax and you will find
I’m really still there inside your mind
Don’t cry for me now I’m gone
For I am in the land of song
There is no pain, there is no fear
So dry away that silent tear
Don’t think of me in the dark and cold
For here I am, no longer old
I’m in that place that’s filled with love
Known to you all, as “up above”
