It is with profound sadness that the family of Judie Levy announces her passing on Monday, February 26, 2024. Beloved wife of Norman for sixty-four years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dawn Levy and Al Vandenbussche, Michael Levy and Lisa Gordon. Proud ‘Nanna’ of Adam, and Andrew Vandenbussche; Kaitlin, and Daniel Levy. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Basil and Ruth Ballon, Heather and the late Edward Ballon, the late Jonathan Ballon, the late Joy and the late Perry Meyer, the late Margot and the late David Nadien; and sister-in-law of Hershey and Phyllis Levy, Ellen and Michael Millman. Caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many.
Judie was kind, compassionate, generous, and devoted to her family. From the age of seventeen, Norman was the centre of her world. Her joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren at family dinners and vacations, and baking for those she loved.
Special thanks to Margaret, Jeanette, Helga, Lisa, Victoria, Irina, and Rowena for their exceptional care and devotion. Together, they ensured that Judie lived the final years of her life to the fullest. Heartfelt gratitude to the 3rd floor staff of Kastner Pavilion at the Jewish Eldercare Centre for their patience and dedication to Judie’s well-being.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth Tikvah Ahavath Shalom Nusach Hoari Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Shiva at the Jewish Eldercare Centre, 5725 Victoria Ave., 2nd floor (room 2C17) through Friday afternoon.
