JOYCE SHIRLEY CARDINAL
1949 — 2024
Joyce Shirley Cardinal passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 74, just shy of her 75th birthday. Joyce was a very strong Métis/Cree woman with a passion for family. She had a knack for taking care of people everywhere she went. She had an incredible sense of humour, enjoyed fiddle music & jigging. She loved to cook, especially bannock for her family & friends.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Diane Hould, and son Roland (Germaine) Hould, grandsons Donovan (Kelsey) Toews, Daniel (Summer) Toews, and Matteo Hould, granddaughters Shanelle (Peter) Statsmann, Sherrilyn (Morgan) Zulinick and great-grandchildren Araiya, Aimon, Windsor, Noah, Aizlyn, Haevyn, Denver, Hudson, Coast, and Portland, as well as her brothers Ray Cardinal, Mel Cardinal & Larry Cardinal.
Joyce was predeceased by her mother Lily Cardinal, her father Louie Muskwa Cardinal, her brothers Louie Cardinal Jr., Dennis Cardinal, and sister Hazel Cardinal. Tragically, she was predeceased by her grandson Kayle Quintal in February 2024.
Joyce Cardinal’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all the lives she impacted, and her brave spirit will continue to inspire the future generations of her family. We will love you forever, Joyce Cardinal, “Don’t cha know”.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at the Chase Community Hall, at 547 Shuswap Ave on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00pm.
