Ms. Joyce Heather Owers of St. John’s, passed peacefully away at Tiffany Court Retirement Residence, St. John’s on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Ms. Owers was 89 years old.
She leaves to mourn her loving family:
Daughter-in-law: Gail Baldwin
Brothers: Keith (Angela) Owers & Ian (Joan) Owers
Nieces: Rachel (Kevin), Odette (Stephen) & Wendy (Alan)
5 Great Nieces & Nephews
Friends: Corinne Wright, Duncan & Eva Howell and Kathy Alward
And a large circle of family & friends…

Ms. Owers trained as a nurse at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, England. She worked in the copper mines in the North West Territories as well as with the Canadian Coast Guard during her nursing career. She was a member of the National Association of Federal Retirees (NL Branch)- FSNA and an active member of the St. John’s Guild of Embroiderers.
Ms. Owers family would like to thank the staff of Tiffany Village. Their care and compassion have been greatly appreciated.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her loving memory to St. John Ambulance.
