On Sunday, February 25, 2024, Delma Joyce Aubert passed away peacefully in Salmon Arm and was received into her eternal home with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was 91 years old. She was predeceased by her dad and mom (Edwin and Anna Bredy), her brother Allan, and 3 grandchildren: Justin, Dayna, and Donna-Jean. She is survived by her loving husband Ron and many family members: daughter Darlene Hillson (David), son Larry Miller (Delia), daughter Mary Lynn McKay (Roy), son Gary Miller (Karen), son Wayne Miller (Rita), stepdaughters Janice Belding (Dennis), Cathy Poulette (John), and Kim Weltz (Jeff), stepson Rick Aubert (Cathy), and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, on both sides of the family. What a treasure!
Joyce was born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan on November 11, 1932 to Edwin and Anna Bredy. Due to her father’s work, she lived in a different town every year of her schooling. Each year she had to make new friends and this certainly had an influence on her becoming the outgoing and social person that she was.
She married Rudy Miller in 1951 and together they had 5 children. She was married to Ron Aubert in 1984 and was warmly welcomed into another growing extended family. What a blessing!
Joyce and Ron were long time members of Deo Lutheran Church in Salmon Arm. She was active in the ELW (Evangelical Lutheran Women) group and in visiting those who were shut-in or alone. They were also longstanding season ticket holders for the local junior hockey team, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, attending almost every game.
Joyce loved to travel and she travelled often to see family members and friends. She had such a positive impact on the lives of so many people and will be greatly treasured in many hearts and sorely missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Deo Lutheran Church in Salmon Arm.
