Joseph Walker
Walker, Joseph Joachim – Age 88, Truro. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Joe Walker, on October 20, 2024, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Granton, Pictou County, on June 28, 1936, he was a son of the late Catherine Walker (Lamey).
In Dad’s younger years, he worked as a mechanic at local garages. He then opened his own business, an antique business, and worked at that for over 45 years. Dad loved his business and all of his antique friends he made along the way.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Larry) Smith, Truro; son, Tim Walker, Truro; his best friend, Lorraine Lynds; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Betty Ann and Alan Nicholson. Dad was a friend of Bill W.
Besides his mother, Dad was predeceased by his wife, Audry Walker; son, Terry Walker; sisters, Mary Shaw, Gerry Fowlie, Sadie Angus and brother, Ted Walker.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of NS or NB would be appreciated.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27th from 6-8pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 28th at 11am in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro. Reception to follow in Campbell Hall.
