1932 – 2023
Unexpectedly at LHSC – University Hospital on June 23rd, 2023, Joseph Pozeg passed away in his 92nd year. Celebrating his 59th wedding anniversary on June 20th, he leaves behind his beloved wife Ljubica Pozeg. Dear father of Cristine Kowalenko (Billy), and Nancy Pozeg. Proud grandfather of Evan Goldrick. Survived by his siblings Alojz Pozeg (Mira), Nikola Pozeg (Nada), predeceased by his sister and her husband Marica Brunski (Nikola). Joseph will be missed by his brother in-law Jure Crnic (Dubravka) and sister in-law Mirjana Knezevic (Fabijan), his many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday June 27th from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm. Prayers will be held at 4pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leopold Mandic, 2889 Westminster Drive, on Wednesday June 28th at 10:00am. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery following the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers donations in Joseph’s memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
