It is with deep sadness that the family of Giuseppe (Pino/Joseph) Pedulla announces his passing on June 10, 2023 at
Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Pino was much beloved by his wife of 40 years, Maria and their four sons, Cosimo, Carlo, Gabriele and Lorenzo. Son of Rosetta Schirripa and the late Cosimo Pedulla and son-in-law of Teresa and the late Carlo Pasqualino. Remembered by siblings Girolamo (Maria), Francesco (Marisa), Giovanni (Irene).
Greatly missed by brothers-in-law Domenic Pasqualino (Maria), Tony Pasqualino (Laura) and Claudio Pasqualino (Laura).
Much loved by his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Giuseppe was born on September 11, 1955 in Fort William, Ontario and grew up in his ancestral home in Siderno, Italy. He returned to Canada as a teenager. At 26 he met and fell in love with Maria and they married. Over the years the family has resided both in Canada and in Italy and Giuseppe worked as both a hair stylist and a restauranteur. In Italy he owned and operated, alongside his brother Francesco, “Jolly Bar” – a café/bar which included beach umbrella rentals and food service. He could be seen scooping homemade gelato and making espressos with the help of his young sons whom he taught the trade and the value of discipline and hard work. Back in Canada he returned to working as a hairstylist which he had done previously as a young man. He took over the historic “Mike’s Barbershop”, owned by Mike Boughton, on Main Street in Milton. The two worked together forming a strong working relationship and bond which continued until Mike’s passing. Giuseppe and Mike shared the belief that it isn’t enough to just run a business but that it is important to be a valued member of the community. In an effort to recognize the bond between the two and honour Mike’s legacy, the business was renamed “Joseph and Mike’s Barbershop”. During his last few years Giuseppe was joined in the shop by his son Cosimo who continues to walk in his father’s footsteps. Giuseppe will be remembered for his sense of humour, his ability to entertain and connect with people and above all, his love for his family.
The family invites you to join them for visitation at McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main Street East, Milton Ontario L9T 1N5 on Thursday June 15th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday June 16th
at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict’s Parish, 300 Yates Drive, Milton Ontario L9T 2W3 with burial immediately following the Mass
at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, L6H 7A8.
