It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Paul Thibeault (Paul) age 63, after a short battle with cancer on the afternoon of Thursday November 16, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton.
Survived by his brother Perry and his wife Kimberly, as well as his greatest love and Best Friend Lisa Kaposy.
Paul is now reunited with his mom Joan Thacker and stepdad Jim Thacker, and his father Jean-Guy Thibeault, stepsisters Barbara, Gloria and Debbie (nee Late), and stepbrother Jim and his wife and family, as well as nieces and nephews. Special uncle to Beverley and Bryce Thibeault. Paul is also lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends.
He loved adventure, campfires, and a round of golf on a beautiful summer day. He also liked potato launching on the property that he and Lisa owned for a long time. He was a very funny guy and always made everyone laugh at family gatherings and outings.
Paul loved animals and had dogs for a lot of years. Brick is missing his visits with Paul. We know Mason, Bear and Magic greeted Paul on his arrival with lots of wet kisses and snuggles.
He had lots of friends in Dundas where he resided for the last 20 years.
Also, a very big thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers and support staff at the Juavinski Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital. Everyone was so supportive and made sure we were up to date on everything. We cannot say enough about them through this difficult time.
Also thank you to Paul’s transplant team at St. Joseph’s Healthcare-Renal Transplant Clinic.
As per Paul’s wishes, he will be cremated with no funeral or visitation. He would love it if everyone raised a glass in his honor.
Paul’s wishes after witnessing what an Organ and Tissue donation can do to save so many people’s lives, was for everyone to be informed about the importance of registering through Service Ontario or Ontario Health Trillium Gift of Life Network.
