Joseph «Frank» Rutledge Obituary
RUTLEDGE, Joseph «Frank» passed away peacefully at Hospice Quinte on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice Ivy Rutledge (nee Drager). Loving father of Sharon & her husband Bill Leitch, Darrell Rutledge & his wife Michelle, Kenneth Rutledge, and Darlene Rutledge & her husband Clare. Proud Grandpa of David, Jennifer, Kerri & Megan, Michelyn, Christy & Joseph, and Melissa & Brandon. Great-grandpa of Liam & Thomas, Ryerson & Sydney, Aria & Deacon, Briella & Dawson, Matson & Kassidy, and Ryan. Frank is dearly remembered by his siblings Doris Adams, Roy Rutledge & his wife Barbara, Peter Rutledge & his wife Christine, and Phillip Rutledge & his wife Judy. Predeceased by his brother Doug Rutledge. Frank will be truly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, many with whom he bonded through his favourite sports of curling and golf .
Frank retired from a lengthy career with the Royal Canadian Air Force/Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 as a Chief Warrant Officer and enjoyed his love of golf through playing the game and operating Frank’s Golf Services for over 30 years. To the end, Frank remained as sharp as a tack and competitive in card play, crib and chicken foot, although bridge was his life-time favourite.
We are grateful to Dr. Soto and Dr. Samis and the staff at Belleville General Hospital for their expertise and kindness. A special thank you to all the staff at Hospice Quinte for their care, compassion and support.
A Celebration of Frank’s Life will take place at WEAVER – West, 170 Dundas St. West, Trenton on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Interment Belleville Cemetery.
