Obituary
Fedak, Joseph Richard
April 7, 1932 – July 28, 2023
Our Lord God saw that his faithful servant was in great pain and suffering and took him to his eternal rest to join his beloved 6 day old grandson Jordan (1999). He leaves his loving wife of 59 years Millie (nee Vlasic) his true soul mate, his children, the loves of his life, Theresa Clews (Rick), Rick, Dave (Laura), and Jody (Rene), and his dearly loved grandchildren the late Jordan (1999), Andrew, Kayla, Ethan, Ashley, and Matthew. Son of the late John Sr. and Jean (nee Lashewicz). Brother of Annie (Louie) Smith, John, and brother in law of Jeannette. Predeceased by Eva (Danny) Brice, Hank (Bernice), Mike (Isabelle), Teddy (Margaret), and George. Survived by his many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a loyal employee of 40 years (retired for 31 years) of Windsor Chrysler Assembly Local 444. Always young at heart and eager to participate in any family activities, the memories shared are endless – notorious bath times which Mom cleaned up after, Saturday mass, pizza from Trevi,Hockey Night in Canada, homemade garbage bag slip ‘n slides, and ice rink after an afternoon shift. Joseph followed the kids in every sport they participated in: hockey, figure skating, baseball, soccer, tennis, bowling, volleyball, and swimming. In 1972, he coached T-Ball (Sox) and went undefeated the whole season. He was an avid fan of the New York Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Windsor Spitfires and Es 73’s. Joseph lived the motto, «Keep kids in sports and out of courts», and his favourite saying was, «ask Mom». He was truly a kid at heart; Millie had a fifth child. His nickname was favourably known as «Pepperoni Joe», Grandpa Joe, and Papa. He was always obsessed with his lawn, and it was known to be immaculate. We wish to thank the staff at the Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic, who helped us through our journey. The PSW’s of Para-Med, especially Alex, the Hospice team at Erie Shores, Dr. Burgess, and the outstanding care and compassion from the angels of Erie Shores Hospice, not only for dad, but for the family as well. Special thanks to Pam Trudell for going over and above for our family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Erie Shores Hospice. Visitation will be held at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Avenue, Es ON (519-776-4233) on Monday July 31, 2023, from 2-5, and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Parish , 146 Talbot St S, Es, ON, on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 11am. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest. Joe was not a suit and tie guy. We ask that all come dressed in casual attire, and to further honour our dad, we are requesting you wear a sports affiliated jersey or shirt.
