Jose Jacinto Medeiros – Born August 15, 1934, Azores, Portugal, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on July 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a life long carpenter. Beloved husband of Maria da Conceicao. Loving father to Maria Lourdes (Shawn) and Lidia Maria. Dear grandfather to Krystal (Jason), Troy (Allison), Colin and Corey, great-grandfather to Atlas, Lola, Cami and an upcoming baby boy. Also, dear brother to Luis, Maria de Luz and Loubelia. Now reunited with his father Luis, his mother Maria and his brother Manuel. Loved by his neices, nephews, extended family and all of those who were fortunate to know him. He left his birth country of Portugal to start a new life in Canada with the promise of greater opportunity for his family. Here, he built a rich and fulfilling life and treasured the many years that he had surrounded by the beauty and warmth of his family and friends. He will be remembered as the family’s most devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan and the one who cherished every family gathering. He was grateful for the gift of each, and every day and we will all strive to embrace life with the same wholeheartedness that he did. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, N., Cambridge on Sunday July 21, 2024, from 6 pm – 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima, 185 Elgin Street, S., Cambridge on Monday July 22, 2024, at 10 am. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge, Ontario. in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Following the burial there will be a reception at 93 Kovac Road, Cambridge, Ontario.
