He was active throughout his adolescence and was known to his friends and teachers as a jock. Sang in the church choir. Learned working and building skills alongside his dad Arvo Kiviste which he used throughout his life. He graduated with an Engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and was a P.ENG. He worked for Union Gas for over 30 years. He loved his job and had many accomplishments. He loved to play golf, travelled extensively, and renovated 4 houses.
John was an actively involved dad to Julia and Teah. Married to Mary Louise for over 33 years. Was extremely close to his three older sisters, Karin, Mary and Lyna. Other people who will miss John will be his nieces, Sarah, Jessie, Livia, and Suzanna, his nephew Lucas, Brothers-in-law Jerry, Neil and Eric, his stepmother Heather, his Mother-in-law Olga, and his married into Italian family, Joe and Ursula, Cathy and Brad, Laura and Micheal.
