It is with heavy
hearts the family of John Wayne Cleveland, 66, of Melanson, announce
his passing in the QEII-Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, on Thursday,
November 14, 2024 after a period of failing health. Born in Berwick,
he was a son of the late John and Mildred (Archer)
Cleveland.
Prior to an early
retirement, John was the Regional Educator with the Regional School
Board. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing the
Gaspereau River.
John is survived by
his wife of 29 years, Jan (Foote); children, John Robert Cleveland
(Amaya), New Minas; Charles Cleveland (Josee), Greenwood; David Morine
(Laura Fisher), Wolfville; and Melissa Morine (Alex Guida), Avonport;
brothers, Charlie Cleveland, Kentville; and Clyde (Christina)
Cleveland, Ontario; beloved grandchildren, Kagen, Koda, Kiera,
Leonardo, Miles and Luca; as well as several uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews and extended family.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth
Cleveland.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A memorial service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in the White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville, with a reception to follow. Donations
in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
