John Kean Obituary
Passed away on January 24, 2024, in Peterborough, Ontario, at the age of 90. He was born on February 4, 1933, in Campbellton, New Brunswick, to the late Geneva Rogers and the late Evan Kean. He was ‘adopted’ by the late Chipman and Vera Kean, his aunt and uncle.
Loving husband of the late Helen Kean (nee Masarovich) for 54 years.
Roger was a beloved father and grandfather and is survived by his children Chipman Kean, Daniel Kean (Sue), and Katherine Sage (Mark); his grandchildren Krista, Lyndsay, Jessica, Ryan, Matthew, Jonathan, Roger, and Cooper; 11 great grandchildren; and his sister Myrna Morin.
Roger is preceded in death by his brothers Beverly, Jerold, Raymond, and Austin Kean, and his sisters Eileen Morris, and Evelyn Champagne.
Roger served in the Northshore Regiment, Ontario Provincial Police and Correctional Service.
In his free time, Roger had a passion for RC Aircraft and Drones and loved his cat Ollie.
Roger’s family wish to extend many thanks to Royal Gardens Retirement Community for their kind care of Roger in his final months.
In keeping with Roger’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside ceremony at St. Peter’s Cemetery will be held in the spring to honor Roger’s life.
