Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Robert Dinney on May 20, 2023 at the palliative care unit of the western long term care home surrounded by family after a brief illness.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years Ruby nee Clench. Children Mike (Jennifer), Greg (Jodi) and Karla (Craig), along with grandchildren Grace, James, Tyson, Sam, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Natalie. Siblings Loretta Wight, Gord (Elizabeth), Melvin (Phyllis), Wornetta Cramm (Gary), Joanne Janes ( Rick) , Brother in-law Wayne Cooper, numerous nieces and nephews especially Edward Wight who John became very close to in the past few years. Special friends, Fred and Rose Young, Bob and Linda Watkins, Terry and Glenda Tilley, Gary and Catherine Cooper, Bruce and Gertie Tilley, Amos and Ida Coates. John was predeceased by his parents Warrick and Kathleen, parents in law Harold and Phyllis Clench, siblings Eric, Elaine Cooper, and baby Imelda, Brothers and Sister In-laws Lester Clench, Donna Clench and Maurice Wight.
John was born in Deer Lake, NL on May 31, 1949 where he resided for the majority of his life and raised his family.
John will be remembered as a well know man in the community, a member of the Deer Lake Fire Department of 43 years and a successful business owner.
In keeping with Johns wishes cremation has already taken place. There will be a visitation for family and friends held at Parsons Funeral home on Wednesday May 24th, 2023 from the hours of 7 – 9 pm. John has also requested that In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made to the Jane way Hospital.
