John Keith
Hutt – 70, Truro,
passed away on Saturday morning, April 22, 2023, at Colchester East
Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late
John and Hazel (Fox) Hutt.
John had various occupations over the years, including steam
cleaning with Russell Anthony, roofing, groundskeeper at Watson
Cemetery and he then worked as an automotive mechanic with
Wally’s Texaco and Ultramar on East Prince Street until the
1990s. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, enjoyed rug hooking and
loved cooking big meals and baking for family and friends for holidays
and any occasion. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, and
loved his cat, Lacey and dog, Lucy.
John is survived by his wife, Ardeth (Baird); children, David
(Jenifer) Hutt, Bible Hill; Shirley Hutt, Truro; Dennis Hutt (Jade
Williams), Brookfield; grandchildren, Alex Deshaw, Ethan Hillier, Ryan
Deshaw, Maggie Hutt, Abel Hutt, Brenton Hutt, Peyton Hutt; brother,
Michael Hutt (Karen Code-Hutt), Truro; several nieces.
Honouring John’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in
John’s memory to Colchester SPCA are
welcomed.
