Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of John (Jack) Welsh on January 16, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
John was a geologist but decided to open a shoe store in Iroquois Falls, which was successful for many years.
Upon retirement, Jack and Claire decided to settle in North Bay. Jack’s hobbies included curling, golfing, playing cards and watching his Leafs on TV. Jack and Claire spent their winters at their condo in Florida.
Jack was predeceased by the love of his life, Claire, his parents Stan and Ethel Welsh, his siblings Jim, Ralph, Robert, Joan and Pat. He leaves behind Gary, his in-laws Marg and Gerry Boucher, Peter Pecaric, Jennifer Black and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a very generous man who was loved and will be missed by many.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Pauline and Kevin who, with utmost care and compassion, nursed Jack in his final days.
The family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home, in North Bay, on January 28th, 2023, between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel. Donations are suggested to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Lung Association.
