It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack on Sept 28, 2023, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, Papa and brother. Jack leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Sheryl and her family, his daughter Yvette (Gavin) granddaughters Breanna and Kristya of Townsville, Australia, his cherished little sister Gina Pfeiffer (Rolf) and niece Shannon, siblings Dae and Diane and many extended family members and dear friends around the world.
Jack was born in Kamloops BC and lived in Westsyde until he moved to Rollingstone, Australia in 1965 with his family. Jack moved back to Kamloops at the age of 13 and attended Westsyde Secondary. When he turned 17, Jack moved to Australia again where he completed his Electrical Apprenticeship and then returned to Canada shortly after. Throughout Jack’s life, he made many trips back to Australia.
Jack’s Electrical career spanned over 40 years and took him all over the world for work. It was after Jack completed a very successful career as Senior Electrical Superintendent and Electrical Construction Superintendent at New Gold, Kamloops, Jack and Sheryl started Mine Power Services Inc. in 2016. Jack was passionate about building his own company, and its success is due to his hard work and unparalleled dedication.
Jack and Sheryl loved to travel, and they were able to enjoy trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, Phoenix as well as many trips to Australia. They also loved their motorcycle rides. Hosting loved ones in the beautiful home they built together was one of Jack’s favourite things to do, with many evenings spent enjoying a cocktail and the beautiful view from their deck.
Jack was an avid motorcycle enthusiast with a loyalty to the Harley Davidson brand, lifestyle, and culture. Jack raced a Hobby Car at The Merritt Speedway from 2014-2017, winning countless accolades. His many hobbies included snowmobiling, skiing, golf, baseball, bowling, darts, and pool.
Jack bravely and fiercely battled an aggressive cancer over the past couple of years with an unwavering commitment to enjoying family, friends, travel and business alongside his loving wife.
We are all grateful for the time we had with Jack. His passing leaves a huge void but his love will live on forever in the hearts of many.
The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr Hollman, Dr. Chevalier, The Staff at the Kamloops and Kelowna Cancer Clinics, The Staff of RIH Gagliardi Tower 7th Floor and Kamloops Home and Community Care Staff.
