Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of John Francis Gogan announce his peaceful passing at his home on Sunday, May 14, 2023. John was a former Spring-hiller, turned beach bum where he and his beloved wife bought and built their life and home at Cameron’s Beach, located in Port Howe. John was a devoted husband who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Belle. He also enjoyed the beach, lending a helping hand and taking Belle for rides on the four-wheeler. John enjoyed many things in life but in the last few years the highlight of his weeks was Wednesday night bingo with his two favourite Bingo Bags, his beloved daughter Michell and bestie Debbie Reeves. In John’s younger years he was an avid sportsman, from baseball to darts he knew it all! John was a jack of all trades working many different jobs in his younger years until he finally settled on his long-time career at IMP Aerospace with well over 30 years in the trade before he retired. John will be lovingly remembered by his son, David and daughter/best friend, Michell Gogan (Devin Ward). John will also be forever remembered by his grandchildren, Courteney (Jarod Hope), John Michael (Christie Walsh) and Josh (Sam Burke). His five great grandchildren, Maddi, Olivia, Carter, Wyatt and Janaya who will forever love, remember and miss their Gunk Gunk. John will also be dearly missed by his sister, Jocelyn (Eugene Peters), his chosen brother, Dick and his wife Mary-Lee Rector, and by many other loved ones and friends at Cameron’s Beach. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda (Reid) Gogan and their infant son, as well as his parents, Bertha (White) Spence and Alvin “Mickey” Spence; his in-laws, Queenie and Gerald Cole as well as his brother-in-law, Larry Cole. John will be missed and never forgotten by every family member and friend near and far. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
