After a short battle with cancer, passed at Chapman House Hospice on Saturday, July 20, 2024, of Markdale in his 74th year. Beloved husband of almost 20 years to Coreen(nee Fisher). Loving father of Corrie(Alex) McLellan of Georgetown, Jim of Milton, Dusti(John) Bovin of Port Loring and step-father of Lisa Bumstead(Clayton Kalbfleisch) of Markdale and the late Brian Bumstead. Proud grandfather of Taylor McLellan, Clayton and Alyssa Jones, Lillia and Aliyah Bovin. Loved great grandfather of Skylar and Amel Hiltz. Dear brother of Rick(Phyllis) Ellery, Frank(Lorraine) Ellery, Paula(Frank Knights), Marilyn(John) Lattanville and Shirley(the late Paul) Baster. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
John was a kind and hardworking man. Born December 9, 1950 in Toronto, he found his forever family with Jim and Clara Jones in Uxbridge as a small child. He was a part of the Royal Canadian Navy and later was a supervisor at Chapman’s Ice Cream in Markdale. John loved camping, golfing, but most of all, time with his family. He leaves a big hole in his friends and families lives.
Cremation has taken place and celebration of life details to come. John will be laid to rest at the Markdale Cemetery later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Chapman House Hospice(Residential Hospice Grey-Bruce) would be greatly appreciated. Online donations and condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca
