John Douglas Joynt, 65, of Hopewell Cape passed away
unexpectedly at his home on December 27th,
2024.
John was born in Halifax on January 13th, 1959 the son of
William and Marion Joynt.
He graduated from Sackville High School in Lower
Sackville, Nova Scotia. He attended Nippissing
University in North Bay, Ontario and graduated from Saint Mary’s
University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
John had several jobs over the years . He worked at
Murphy’s on the Waterfront, Mitton Vinyl Siding and was the
Eastern Regional Manager at FCA. John worked as a labourer for Weed
Man, which was funny to some of his friends he became known
as «John Joynt the WEED MAN». He last worked for
the Times & Transcript as a distributor .
John, affectionately called «Little Dad» or
«Johnny» by his friends, lived a full life and he travelled
all over the world. He made several trips to Europe and
enjoyed seeing other countries and experiencing the different
cultures. He was an avid reader and loved his
books. He also loved all sports, Football, hockey,
golf and curling, he was a past member of the Fundy Curling
Club. John could be found in his later years entertained by
a good game of solitaire. John had travelled the
world but fell in love with the Albert County area where he made his
home and built his house up the road from the Rocks
and made sure to put in a big picture window to see the view of the
water. He had a passion for music and enjoyed
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Janis Joplin, and other music from that time frame. A
quote from Janis that John lived by was «Don’t
compromise yourself, You’re all you got!»
John loved his family and his children were his
everything. He was so happy to become a Grampa. He
enjoyed the visits and was enjoyed a good phone call with Zack and
Emily to see how things were going.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Emily Joynt
(Kaitlyn) of Fredericton; son, Zack Joynt (Josee) of Lower Coverdale;
his precious granddaughter, Julia; sisters, Kelly Joynt-Billard (Tim)
of Sackville, NS and Beverly White of Bedford, NS; his brother, Jim
Joynt of Middle Sackville, NS and nephew, Brad White of Bedford and by
several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the
mother of his children, Lucy Wringley and her children, Amy (Josh) and
Kyle and their families and by many good friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his
brother, Murray Joynt
There will be a time of visitation to Celebrate his life at
the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4th, 2024
from 1-4pm. Interment will be in Sackville, NS at
a later date.
For those who wish donations to the charity of the donor’s
choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
