Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on January 13, 2023 at the age of 84.
Loving husband of his incredible wife, Jeanne (nee Caron) who never left his side in their 62 years of marriage. Cherished father of John (Sandi), Rob (Dawn), James (Lisa), and Dan (Aimy). Proud Pépé of James, Mike (Kayla), Corey, Carly (Tyler), Nick, Alex, Grace, Hanna, and Abby. Great-Grandpa of Larkyn and Rory. Predeceased by siblings Margaret, Shirley, Patrick, and Gerald. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Anyone who lived in Tecumseh knew Butch through Suburban Ambulance and Redmond’s Texaco Service. He was a successful business man in Tecumseh for many years alongside his father, John Sr. and brother, Pat. Butch was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. His passions in life were being an auto mechanic, auto racing, fishing and spending time with his family. Special thanks to the staff at The Regional Renal Program at Windsor Regional Hospital, the team of Hospice Windsor and St. Elizabeth’s Nurses for their exceptional care.
Donations in memory of Butch made to the Hospice of Windsor, The Regional Renal Program at WRH, or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Families First Funeral Home in East Windsor (1065 Lauzon Rd. 519-969-5841) from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
