Mr. John Bruce “Buffalo” Butt of Carbonear passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, May 25, 2024 with his wife Debbie by his side. Mr. Butt was 70 years old.
Predeceased by parents: Lillian (Murray) & Gordon Butt; sisters: Sophie & Jean and brothers: George, Donald & Herbert.
Left to mourn, with lots of wonderful memories of 27 years, wife and sidekick Debbie; children: Nicole (Blair), Kristine (Dixon), Rebecca (Jason), Erin, Johnny (Angie) and Sarah as well as children they raised together: Curtis (Kim), Christopher (Janice) and Shannon (Trevor); sister: Joan who was always their for him, and it didn’t go unnoticed and will never be forgotten; brother: Gordon whom he not only looked up to but has the highest respect for, Mose (Fran) whom he shared may wonderful memories with and then there’s Gary (Joanne) the brother whom he grew up with, fought with and travelled with but always had each others back from beginning to end. Parents-in-law: Bruce & Joan Driscoll and brother-in-law Wade (Lenore) as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and of course other family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear on Tuesday: 6-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the John Bruce Butt Memorial Fund. Email transfers can be sent to sladesfuneralhomenl@gmail.com, password: jbbutt. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 7 P.M. from the Edward Slade Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment will follow at a later date.
