Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Mol at the age of 91, on October 7th at Wyndham Manor Long Term Care Centre in Oakville.
The oldest of 4, he was predeceased by his younger brothers Marten (2010), Jake (2018) and younger sister Nancy (2019). John is survived by his loving wife Maureen Mol (nee Fieldwick), his daughter Shelley, son Brad and daughter-in-law Christel, grandchildren Natasha, Amanda, Joshua, Jeremiah, Charles and great-grandchildren Tysen, Lily, Arrabella and Alexia.
John came to Canada as a youngster after the war with his parents and siblings, and made his life in Windsor, then Mississauga where the kids were born, and his later life in Oakville on the lake. He married his wife Maureen in 1961 in Es, Ontario and built a successful career at Ford Motor Company as a senior engineer. He dedicated his life to his family and his work. He enjoyed building and spending time at the family cottage in the Muskokas, especially when the kids were younger. In his later years he loved teaching Tai Chi for some time. John could spend hours just watching all the boats and activities on Lake Ontario and in the harbour from their condo balcony in Bronte.
John’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the management and staff of Wyndham Manor for their kindness, care and support of John during his last 11 months residing there.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 10th in the chapel at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, ON L6K 1E1 at 11:30am with a reception to follow in the lounge.
