John died suddenly at the age of 85 at St. Elizabeth Village. Loved husband of Loretto, loving father of Julie, Anjie, Steve (Cali) and proud Nonno to Fischer, Maya, Matteo and Zoey. John will join his predeceased son Mark, parents Speranzina, Gianbattista and sister Dorina. John will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law Pat (Donna), Fr. Ed and sister-in-law Mary Margaret (Bill).
John immigrated from Novele, Italy at age 17. He was a proud member of United Association Local 67 for 59 years as a pipefitter. He enjoyed his family at Upper Mill Pond and the many activities provided. Family, including his cousins in Italy and his faith were most important to John. Visitation will be held at P.X Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Thursday December 12th from 3.30 -7.30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 620 Rymal Rd. East, Hamilton on Friday December 13 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery 254 Garner Rd., Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations to Good Shepherd Centres or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.dermodys.com
