A machinist by trade he worked at Dingwells Machine Shop and Ontario Hydro. In 1959 he started AMCO Machine Co. which he owned and operated with his wife Liisa for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He took great pride in his work and was well known for his meticulous attention to detail.
