July 22 2024 résidant dans la province Saskatchewan pour le détail des funérailles.

On Monday, July 22, 2024, at the age of 78, after a long and hard-fought battle with multiple medical conditions and in an answer to prayer, Jocelyne was mercifully delivered from the pain and suffering of her final weeks into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jocelyne was born on June 15, 1946, in Gravelbourg, SK, a French speaking community. The oldest of eight children, she was raised on a grain farm in nearby Ferland, SK. Upon finishing school, she moved to Montreal, Quebec, where she worked in the department of Economics at the University of McGill. In 1968, she married Cyril, the Irishman from Dublin who had captured her heart, and together they raised their family in Regina. The ensuing years brought many hills and valleys, but it was in the valleys where she was saved by God’s grace and found her true identity as His child, and, with it, a deep, abiding faith in, and love for, Christ, one that would sustain her and carry her through the many tests and trials she faced. Through it all, she persevered, leaning on the Lord and His strength, and along the way, planting seeds in her three children, who watched her faithfully read and study the Word and give of herself in service to others, most notably at the Crisis Pregnancy Centre Regina (now Options Pregnancy Centre), where she volunteered and later served for a season as Acting Director.
Her final years were spent at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, where she enjoyed a variety of activities – bingo being her favorite! – and planting and tending to the flowers in the garden area. She delighted in receiving visits from her children and brother, Alain, the daily prayer calls with her daughter, Michelle, and spending time with other residents including lots of laughter with her good friend, Helen. A nurturer until the end, she looked out for many of the other residents, often praying for them when they were sick and comforting their families after they passed.
Jocelyne was predeceased by her husband, Cyril; her parents, Joseph and Beatrice Couture; three brothers, Conrad, Richard, and Renaud, and one sister, Mireille McGill. She is survived, and lovingly remembered, by her children, Michelle (Chad) Clarke, Fiona, and Christian; grandchildren Ryan and Dylan Clarke, Cree and Brooklyn Morris; great grandchildren, Malika and Anthony Morris; brothers Michel (Lise) Couture, Alain Couture, and Luc (Jennifer) Couture; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her family at Santa Maria. Though we mourn her loss and will miss her greatly, we do not grieve without hope but instead rejoice that she is in the glory of His presence and peace, and we hold onto the promise and confidence that, by our faith placed in Him, we will see her again, or…’a la prochain.’
My heart and my flesh may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26)
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Santa Maria, especially her nurse, Esther – sent ‘for such a time as this’ – for the grace, kindness, and loving attention given to Jocelyne in her time there, and for the compassion they have shown in the days since her loss. In accordance with her wishes, a memorial service will be held in the chapel at Santa Maria Senior Citizen’s Home located at 4215 Regina Avenue on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Jocelyne’s final resting place will be beside her husband, Cyril, in St. Paul’s Cathedral Columbarium, Regina, SK.
In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make donations in Jocelyne’s memory, either online or by mail, to the Santa Maria Foundation (santamariaregina.ca/donate) or to Options Pregnancy Centre (reginapregnancy.com/donate)
