Barevich, Joanne Marion (nee Tulumello) – Unexpectedly, on October 27, 2023, at the Welland Hospital with many of her loved ones at her side. Joanne was greeted in Heaven by her loving husband of 53 years Steve, who predeceased her in 2019. Here on Earth she leaves behind her children, Cindy (Dale) Wurfel, Steve (April) Barevich and Vicki Barevich. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Alexis (Ricardo) Di Nucci, Jordan (Brittany) Wurfel, Joshua Wurfel, Olivia Johnson (Kyle), Carli (Nick) Cote, Trinity Barevich (Jamall Wettlaufer), Tyler Barevich, Travis Barevich and great grandchildren Vienna Wurfel, Vito Di Nucci, Rocco Di Nucci, Bailey Wurfel, Brooklyn Wurfel, Sophia Cote and Chloe Cote. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Frank Rakonczai. Joanne was a vivacious woman with a bold personality and left her mark on everyone she met. Despite the many trials and tribulations she faced, she continued to live life unabashedly, with zest and unending vigour. Joanne enjoyed writing poetry and dancing, which she continued to do until her last days. Her mind was a time capsule of memories which she often regaled to her children and grandchildren. Those memories and stories will be treasured deep in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, November 7th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Cudney Chapel at 12:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Welland Humane Society or St. Kevin’s Parish would be appreciated by the family.
