Passed away on August 26, 2024 at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, ON at the age of 74.
Beloved wife of Michael.
Loving mother of Kelly (Scott Mitchell) and Michelle
Dear Nanny of Xavier Bone, Jacob Mitchell, Logan Bone and Lily Mitchell
Will be greatly missed by Brother John Edwards, Sisters Gina Edwards and Ann Grace, Step-mother Sue Edwards. Brother in Law Shaun Townsend (Jane), Sister in Law Eileen Pay, Brother in Law Paul Townsend (Emma), Brother in Law Ken Townsend (Isa), Niece Tracey Armstrong and Great-Nephew Matthew Armstrong.
Predeceased by Son Christopher Townsend, Brother David Edwards, Father Len Edwards, Mother Audrey Edwards, Brothers in Law Eric Grace and Ken Pay, Mother in Law Ada Townsend and Fatherin Law Albert Townsend
Joan was a much loved wife, mother, nanny, and friend. She loved to do needle crafts, reading, gardening, traveling to the Caribbean with her husband and getting together with her Sears Girls.
A celebration of Joan’s life will take place from 5:00PM – 8:00PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
